In 1967 the Tree House Design Studio was formed to further the research and development of design curricula. The education and theory sections present inquiries into a variety of design related topics, some of which eventually resulted in course syllabi and instructional materials covering Concept Design, Color Theory, Form Theory, Systems Design, Visual Communication, Computer-aided Design and Computer Modeling and Rendering.
As a design educator, I have been fortunate to explore and incorporate diverse concepts into my personal world of music, art and design, which I now hope to share with colleagues and students. The work offered on these pages represents a look at the design world through a prism of art, science and structure. Stimulated by some of the greatest art, music, and design thinkers of the twentieth century and many inquisitive, eager design students, it is dedicated to the past, present and future of design education.
